Enhancing the appearance of your car

As time goes by your vehicle may begin to show its age, affecting its function and decreasing its value. Here we have some simple ways to keep your car looking great and maintain its value without spending too much on buying and replacing new parts. Scuffs N Scratches is Liverpool’s leading auto-body specialist, and provides the following services to keep your car looking as good as new:

BUMPER REPAIR

Car bumpers absorb the impact and protect the driver and passengers whenever an accident occurs. It is important that the bumper is to be in the best shape, not only for looks but because the bumper protects against further damage to the vehicle and passengers.

When the bumper gets broken or scratched people tend to assume it must be replaced. This process is slow and expensive, with customers having to wait for the scheduled time before the car is fit to go back on the road. Car bumper replacement is extremely expensive and requires more time, skills, and effort. Bumper repair, however, is quick, easy, and inexpensive, saving you both time and money.

HEADLIGHT RESTORATION

Restoring headlights to their original clarity will enable the headlights to project accurately and clearly. Headlight restoration is the process which restores cloudy, foggy headlights to like new condition through polishing, cleaning, Tucson Headlight Repairwet sanding, and clearing those cloudy and foggy plastic headlight lenses. Through headlight restoration, you can also save hundreds of pounds over buying new headlights. Instead of replacing new headlights every now and then, restoring it will save time and effort. It will also increase night vision and help the driver to drive more safely. Newly restored headlights will also enhance the appearance of your car and increases its resale value. You can sell it at a higher price because anything that improves your car appearance will increase its value.

AUTO DETAILING

Auto Detailing is the process of cleaning the interior and exterior part of the vehicle. It does not include electrical repairs, mechanical repairs, upholstery repair and body works. It includes thoroughly washing the car’s body, drying the car and polishing the body as well. It also involves auto-painting services, chrome trim, tyres, windows and wheels, cleaning and fixing the car’s paint so that it will look brand new. Exterior auto-detailing also involves cleaning the vehicles lights, mirrors, bumpers and removing all the scratches, swirls, oxidation, stains and imperfections. After cleaning the exterior thoroughly, they will apply a coat of wax to the vehicle’s surface to give it that extra shine.

Interior auto-detailing involves cleaning the doors, windows, dashboard, vents, console, glove compartment, gauges, seats, upholstery and floors. Interior auto-detailing also includes powerfully cleaning the vehicles seats. If the seat is made of leather or vinyl, the technician will clean the seats thoroughly with chemical cleaner to preserve the softness and shiniest of the car seat. If it is made of cloth, they will vacuum out every bit of dirt found in the car seat. Interior auto-detailing also consists of cleaning the carpet and carpet mat by thoroughly vacuuming all of the carpeted areas of the car with a high-powered vacuum hose. If there’s any stain that is present in the carpet, the technician will use a strong cleanser until the stain is gone. After the carpet is cleaned and dry, it will be put back in the flooring.

Should I visit my dealership for car body repairs?

Many car dealerships will have a body shop but they are not part of the factory trained service technician group. They are just like other body shop out there.  They are perfectly capable of carrying out any work needed, but beware – there is a cost!

For a major repair, the canny customer we get a few estimates then ask a couple of questions to help decide which repair shop should carry out the work.  Two key questions to ask are:

  • How long is the warranty?
  • Does my insurance cover work carried out here?

Possibly the most important thing to remember is that most dealerships tend to use car body repair shops instead of their own staff as it tends to be easier (and cheaper) for them to have the car taken away.  In essence, by taking your car to the dealership you are actually getting the job done by the repair shop up the road and paying a premium to the dealership as a ‘handling fee’.

Why not cut out the middle man and contact the Liverpool’s leading auto-body repair shop direct?  At Scuffs N Scratches we have over 15 years experience carrying out repair work for Jaguar, Audi, BMW, Vauxhall, Ford and Toyota.  Save yourself some money and call us today.
